Failed to deploy OVF package The OVF descriptor is not available

When deploying an OVF/OVA you may get this error:

Failed to deploy OVF package - The OVF descriptor is not available

This can in some cases be resolved by simply browsing to the vCenter using the FQDN instead of the short name.
